Cleveland, Ohio - The Cleveland Stonewall Democrats voted last night to endorse Subodh Chandra, Democratic Candidate for Ohio Attorney General.

Patrick Shepherd, president of the Cleveland Stonewall Democrats, said that "Chandra's experience, vision for the office, and knowledge of the issues makes him the clear choice for Ohio Attorney General." Shepherd added that "we look forward to working with Chandra and helping him win the nomination in May and the job of Attorney General in November."

Chandra, former Cleveland Law Director and former federal prosecutor, welcomed the endorsement and said that he "strongly believes in equality of opportunity, human rights, and the dignity of all human beings to live free of discrimination." I'm honored to have their support, he added.

The Cleveland Stonewall Democrats is one of over 90 national affiliates of the National Stonewall Democrats (NSD), America's voice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Democrats.

"Stonewall believes that the Democratic Party should be the home of those devoted to securing fair and equal treatment for people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Chandra shares this belief and offers our party and our organization the best hope for ensuring that all Ohioans have fair and equal treatment under the law," said Shepherd.
