Hire Subodh Chandra as the People's Lawyer
For Ohio Attorney General

Democratic Candidates

Subodh Chandra (D-Cleveland)
As a former federal prosecutor and former Director of Law for the City of Cleveland, Subodh Chandra has made a career of solving the kinds of corruption and graft problems that pollute Ohio's government. As such, Subodh is the Democratic candidate for Ohio Attorney General who can best persuade Ohio voters that new leadership of state government can once again put the interests of all Ohioans before the interests of their campaign contributors. Subodh can do more than talk about the Republican scandals-he can point to his success in cleaning up government corruption.

Subodh Chandra and his wife, Meena Morey Chandra, a civil-rights attorney, live on the east side of Cleveland where they are raising their triplet-toddler sons. Subodh grew up in Oklahoma as the son of parents who had immigrated to the United States from India. Following his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, Subodh first came to Ohio to work with Governor Richard Celeste to train young leaders from formerly Communist countries in Central & Eastern Europe in the skills required to build successful democracies. Subodh graduated from the Yale Law School before eventually returning to Ohio.

State Senator Marc Dann (D-Liberty)
Marc Dann received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1987 and launched his private law practice as a divorce attorney in 1991. In 1998, Dann served as campaign manager for Cuyahoga County Commissioner Mary Boyle's unsuccessful bid to unseat Senator George Voinovich and has managed other campaigns. After losing a primary bid in 2000 for the State Senate seat he now holds, Dann was elected to the Liberty Local School Board in 2001. In 2003 he was appointed by the Senate Democratic Caucus to fill the unexpired term of State Senator Tim Ryan who had been elected to Congress. Dann retained the seat, which represents a heavily Democratic district, against a Republican challenger later that year.

Republican Candidates

Betty Montgomery, (R-Perrysburg)
Montgomery was one of three Republican candidates seeking the party's 2006 nomination for Governor before dropping out of the race in order to run for her former position of Attorney General. She currently serves as Ohio State Auditor. In 2003, after being term-limited as attorney general, she swapped offices with then Auditor Jim Petro, who was elected as attorney general. Prior to that, Montgomery beat incumbent Attorney General Lee Fisher in 1994 by campaigning on her record as a prosecutor. In 1998 she won re-election against Richard Cordray. In 1988 she was elected to the Ohio Senate. She also served as Wood County Prosecutor in 1980.

State Senator Tim Grendell (R-Chesterland)
Tim Grendell has served in the Ohio Senate since January 2005, having served previously in the Ohio House of Representatives. Grendell received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University and his LLM from the University of Virginia School of Law.
